Children are capable of playing beautiful music and developing beautiful hearts

My joy, for 25 years and more, has been expanded by bringing music to children and their parents, and bringing out the music in them. My violin families come from such varied perspectives of the world, yet all of them are united in the goal to have beautiful music in their own lives. With mom or dad as practice coach, each student develops higher expectations for his or her own musical ability, and their successes lead them to greater confidence in other activities, too.

Suzuki method’s ideal learning environment includes listening to music with a fine tone for children to imitate, and parents who provide positive reinforcement whenever their children have even a small, but true, success. Parents are naturally encouraged by their children’s progress, and children naturally (secretly?) want to please their parents! My job as a violin teacher is helping students and parents find the simple building blocks of the infinitely complex skill of playing violin well. Beautiful music comes from the love that we share while creating the path of study, which leads to each goal along the way.
